ERYT 200 Yoga Alliance Accredited Yoga Instructor
& Certified Yoga Massage Therapist
Yoga is my first love. I have so many years invested in this wonderful practice - my mother took me to my first yoga class at 10 years old hoping it would help with my nervous disposition. And yes it did! In fact all through my career as a ballet dancer yoga was there for me, in times of stress or injury, or just reminding me to be grateful for my body and the vital life force flowing through it from moment to moment.
When I discovered Thai Yoga Bodywork/Massage I found a technique that would enhance my own yoga practice as well as those of my students of yoga. My teacher Kam Thye Chow describes Thai Yoga Bodywork/Massage as "a dynamic therapy for physical well-being and spiritual energy". This technique has been described as assisted Hatha Yoga, incorporating martial arts moves, rhythmic motion, palming and thumbing along energy lines, gentle stretching, and breath work. As well as stretching and toning the muscles Thai Yoga improves circulation, relieves muscular tension and aids in boosting metabolism as well as the immune system. Energetically the body becomes balanced, and the recipient will feel a wonderful sense of calm enveloping body mind and spirit.
Caroline is a certified yoga instructor (ERYT 200hrs), and holds a certification with Lotus Palm of Montreal in Thai Yoga Bodywork. She has taught for many years at Omland Yoga in Bangor and for the last five years has been part of the faculty for the Yoga Teacher Training Yoga Alliance accredited course that takes place at its Bangor studio.
Recently Caroline left the studio of Omland Yoga to pursue her love of teaching yoga privately, finding that being free to customize her classes to suit her clients needs was far more rewarding. Also, she now has more time to perform Thai Yoga Bodywork spreading "metta" or loving kindness which in reality is the essence of this very unique practice.
